TROY FAIR DRAFT HORSE SHOW Sunday, July 20, 2008 - 10:00 a.m.
Health Regulations
Pennsylvania state regulations require that all OUT-OF-STATE EQUINES to be exhibited at Pennsylvania fairs that are receiving state funds must be accompanied by a health certificate prepared within 30 days of the date of the horse show by an accredited veterinarian. The health certificate shall include the date of the negative results of the Coggins Test which shall have been conducted within twelve months of the opening date of the horse show. PENNSYLVANIA EQUINES shall be required to have negative Coggins papers dated within twelve months of the date of the horse show. Any horse under six months of age does not require Coggins papers. (Health certificates are not required for the showing of Pennsylvania horses.) Proof of a rabies vaccination is mandatory. Please bring a rabies certificate. The show committee also recommends a 4-way shot for those horses that will be at any horse show in close proximity to other horses. No equines showing evidence of any contagious or infectious disease will be permitted entry to the Fair.
Show Rules
Only serviceably sound horses will be entitled to be judged. The Fair Show Committee reserves the right to refuse any or all entries. Halter classes may be combined to result in the judging of mixed breeds. Horse's ages shall be computed according to their actual age the date of the show. All horses must be under full control at all times or must leave the Fairgrounds at the discretion of the Fair Horse Show Committee. Exhibitors are expected to be ready to enter the ring at the final call for their class; to follow the lead of the ring steward; and to refrain from conversation with the judge unless answering questions or making acknowledgments. All stallions except weanlings must have been issued a registration certificate by the respective breed association. Horses are to be on the grounds at 8:00 a.m. Sunday, July 20, 2008. Judging will begin at 10:00 a.m. Any changes in Halter Classes must be made by 9:00 a.m. Any changes in hitch Classes must be made by 11:00 a.m. Ribbons and Rosettes will be awarded according to the published class list/information.

Entry Fee is $10.00 per class. Entry and fee must be received at the registration booth before the previous class is called into the ring.
Halter Classes *
If, in any given class, 5 or more horses of the same breed are registered by the entry deadline, a Champion Round of that breed for that Class will be held prior to the Grand Champion Round.

Youth Showmanship *
Exhibitors must not have reached their 18th birthday before July 20, 2008. Youth Showmanship exhibitors to be judged on; ability to control and effectively show the horse; preparation and grooming of the horse; knowledge of proper showing procedures; poise, safety and confidence as an exhibitor. Conformation of the horse is not a factor in judging these classes.

Performance Classes *
Men's Cart Ladies' Cart Youth Cart Open to competent drivers 18 & under who are accompanied by an experienced adult driver. Exhibitors must not have reached their 18th birthday before July 20, 2008. Youths competing in Class 6 or 7 are not eligible for this class Tandem Hitch * Single Driving Obstacle Judged based on time and penalties incurred. The course will be posted the day of the Show. All entries for Classes 10 and 11 will perform in "when ready" order. Results will be tabulated in two groups; single and team. All entries: are to be pre registered; assemble in the marshalling area (the area out side the entry gate, using the roadway if necessary to keep safe distances apart); be prepared to verbally confirm entry number, driver and horse(s) names with a show official in the marshalling area; enter the ring when instructed to do so by a show official and upon completion of the course, exit the area via the exit "lane" Team Driving Obstacle Same as above Single Log Obstacle A through-the-trees-with-a-log, agility class. The Log Obstacle classes are judged based on time and penalties incurred. The course will be posted the day of the Show. All entries for Classes 12 and 13 will perform in "when ready" order. Results will be tabulated in two groups; single and team. The MC will read the commentary you provide. We'll have the crowd declare their favorite with their cheers. Our judge will declare 2nd - 5th.
