Rules
  1. All entries to be on the grounds by Monday, July 21, 12:00 Noon. All animals shown may not be removed until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, July 26
  2. All sheep exhibited must be accompanied by a certificate of health signed by a licensed veterinarian indicating he/she has inspected the flock of which the animals are a part and found them free from Scabies and other transmissible diseases
  3. Any animal of unthrifty nature, unsuitable condition, or which cannot be satisfactorily handled under show conditions must be removed from the fair grounds. No sheep showing clinical signs of contagious, infectious or external parasitic disease including foot rot and sore mouth will be admitted to any show
  4. All show sheep must be individually identified by an ear tag or tattoo and this identification must be listed on the health certificate
  5. The flock of origin, including sheep consigned to a show shall be examined by an accredited veterinarian. The veterinarian must prepare the health certificate and must state on the health certificate that he examined the entire flock and found no evidence of contagious, infectious or external parasitic disease. The date of examination must also appear on the health certificate. Junior classes are open to boys or girls of Bradford County only between the ages of 8 and 19. The Junior Show will be coordinated with the open show
  6. Pen space will be available to all Bradford County Breeders. Entries to be received until July 5. Send to Ernie Cole, RR 1 Box 138, Granville Summit, PA 16926. After that date, the balance of space available may be allocated to other Pennsylvania exhibitors to a limit of 150 head
  7. An entry fee of $2.00 per head shall accompany the entry blanks. No entry fee for youth show. One breeder will not be eligible for premium on more than two entries in each individual class, or one entry in each group class

  9. Lambs shown in breeding classes may not be shown in market class and vice versa
  10. All exhibitors are responsible for bringing their own bedding and feed. All sheep will be checked by a veterinarian at noon on Monday, July 21. Health rules will be enforced
  11. All sheep must be registered and owned by the exhibitor. Registration papers may be checked with health certificates on Monday
  12. All pens must be cleaned and waste properly disposed of
Section 1 - Breeding Sheep
  1. Pen of lambs consists of two ram lambs and two ewe lambs.
  2. Flock consists of one ram, any age; two ewes, one year and under two; two ewes under one year.
  3. Breeder’s young flock consists of ram lamb and two ewe lambs-all bred and owned by exhibitor.
  4. A Get of Sire shall consist of four breeding animals, any age or sex, the get of one sire.  Get need not be owned by the exhibitor.

Section 2 - Open Class Market Lambs
  1. All Market Lambs will be weighed.
  2. Only wether or ewe lambs may be entered as market lambs.
  3. Owner is responsible for care until animals are removed from grounds.

  2. Class 2 - Heavy Weight - over 90 lbs.
  3. Class 3 - Pen of Lambs (3 lambs)
  4. Class 4 - Champion Market Lamb

Section 3 - Good Housekeeping
  1. Sheep exhibitors who maintain the most attractive and sanitary exhibits will be eligible for special daily premiums. Premiums will be awarded at end of week.
  2. All sheep exhibits will be scored on the following basis (total of 100 points):
    • Cleanliness of animals - 15 points
    • Cleanliness of bedding - 15 points
    • Entry Card & Ribbons won properly displayed with animal - 20 points
    • Keeping grain and hay feed presentable - 10 points
    • Keeping all equipment sanitary and neat - 10 points
    • Keeping aisles clean - 15 points
    • Courtesy to people - 15 points
  3. Inspection to be made daily, unannounced.
  4. Awards will be made for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
  5. Premium amounts:
    • First Place - $5.00
    • Second Place - $4.00
    • Third Place - $3.00
  6. Cumulative prize limit - $10.00
Section 4 - Wool
Entry application with entry fee of $0.50 per fleece due by July 5 to Ernie Cole, RR 1 Box 138, Granville Summit, PA 16926
Wool exhibited must be produced by exhibitor.  No premiums will be awarded in any class unless the exhibits are worthy.  The judges may withhold any premium for lack of merit.

  2. Class 2 - Half and Three-Eights blood 56’s to 62’s
  3. Class 3 - Quarter & Low Quarter - 46’s to 54’s
  4. Class 4 - Black Spinning Wool
